ECOS Paints do not have a specific shelf life. However, the paint is still usable if it has a smooth, even consistency and there should be no strong odor.
ECOS Paints does not add preservatives or fungicides that traditional paint companies use, as many of our customers have sensitivity or allergic reactions to them. As a consequence, our paint can spoil if its contaminated.
Contamination can occur by dipping dirty brushes into the paint or by leaving the paint open to the air. Once contaminated, the paint can spoil in a matter of weeks.
Typically left unopened, the paint will last more than a year so long as it’s kept in appropriate conditions where there is no potential for freezing, or stored in a dry place, out of direct sunlight and in a temperature between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
